Old fashioned Rail Travel

Main Line Services

Robertsbridge is on the main London Hastings line via Sevenoaks and trains leave from Charing Cross via Waterloo East and London Bridge. There is a train an hour throughout the day, with more at the rush hour up to London in the morning and down from London in the afternoon. Click here for access to station and timetable information, and here for the current timetable. Services to and from Battle are more frequent, and Battle is only 10 minutes away by cab.

Steam Trains

Robertsbridge is the terminus of an effort to resucitate the last missing section of the Kent and East Sussex Line. The missing link, called the Rother Valley Railway, will connect Robertsbridge to Bodiam to the east, and join the exisiting Kent And East Sussex Railway that runs steam trains between Bodiam and Tenterden. In the meantime, the dismantled railbed makes a nice walk.
